European protected bird species, included in the Annex I of the European Union Birds Directive.


Breeding place of a Wood Sandpiper (Tringa glareola) is a bog. During migration flocks of Wood Sandpipers feed on seacoast, in wet meadows and fish ponds. Wood Sandpiper is a rare breeder in Latvia, mainly in raised bogs. There are up to four pairs breeding in “Adazi”.
